Every Day Is Earth Day If Your Work Is At Home

If you want to work at home, or if you already do, you definitely will do Mother Earth a favor.

Amazingly, if those people who want to work at home and have jobs that would allow them to, worked at home just half the time we could save more energy than all the alternative sources available, such as solar and wind energy.

Sadly, out of 143 million workers, only about 5.9 million consider home their primary place to work (about half of those people are self-employed).

But companies are coming around and have begun to realize that telework and telecommuting is good business at least in part because it’s good for the environment.

I work from home. I have for over 11 years now. I love the freedom it gives me, though, sometimes you tend to over work since it is right there in your face. I do save on gas everyday and I can work in my pajamas. So I guess, in a round-a-bout way, I am helping the planet, too! Never thought of that!

How true! I think telecommuting/online jobs will continue to increase as technology progresses. With online opportunities and tools available, more people will follow.
