Here’s a first-hand account of a brush with scammers, from one of our readers. Fortunately she did her homework, and avoided wasting her hard earned money paying for a bogus kit.
Hello readers, my name is Jill and I would like to tell you about my experience. I am an educated woman and worked as a manager until recently, but due to personal reasons I have had to take a career break. However, I still wanted to earn some income, so I’ve looked at ways at working from home.
I have been viewing various websites, but have become quite skeptical about some of them. I wanted to make sure that any job advertised working from home was genuine, realistic and not a scam!
I came across sites about surveys at home, selling products via websites, writing blogs, etc., but was very dubious about them. Every so-called ‘company’ wanted me to pay for introductory packs upfront, and would continue to contact me via email knocking the price down each time.
I then came across a company called ABC Marketing Limited based in London, and the job involved stuffing envelopes at home. It seemed pretty easy, and once I left my details they sent me information via the post. This information was very interesting indeed, and very professionally done. However, they wanted a fee for an instruction pack which made me start to think, and also do my homework on this company.
From the small print on the back of their information I knew they were registered with Companies House and a VAT registered company. I researched Companies House and yes there were indeed registered and seem legitimate although I had to pay to see any reports on the company. I then looked up the BBC Watchdog website to view their details on Internet scam companies and was pleased they weren’t listed. However, I still was not 100% convinced. I then stumbled across this site ‘Undress4Success’ which lists information on all scams on the Internet. This site was full of information and confirmed the doubts I had, even though they had only one detail of an envelope stuffing scam – was this my company?? I emailed Tom who very quickly replied to my email and gave me advice and direction.
I then emailed ABC Marketing Limited a list of questions I had regarding the information they sent. I emailed again and rang them twice leaving messages either to ring me on my mobile or to answer my email . . . I am still waiting!! Obviously they are not that desperate for home workers or perhaps they are avoiding me and do not like the content of my email as they may realise I am not one to be sucked in!!!! We may never know.
Be sure to look carefully at work-at-home job offers. You can bet, if they ask for money, that’s it’s a scam. Don’t lose your shirt when yuou Undress For Success.

hi, i came across a company in london, a to z marketing..i was wondering if its legit?/ cant find it again on net!!
If you can’t find them again, you’ve probably answered your own question. Legit or not, if they disappeared why do you want to get involved with them?
What were they offering, some kind of work at home ‘opportunity’? If it cost you anything at all, don’t waste your money.
HI, my mum spotted A to Z Marketing Ldt also. I wanted to check then out before she sent the £30 they ask for the starter pack. I’ve tried the phone num given and it goes straight to a standard answer message, cant leave mes box ful. Huumm. I not convinced. Any advice would be gratly appreciated please!? Many thanks x
A company with that name cropped up here before…with the same issue. Sounds shady to us.
What does she get for her money? What’s in the ‘starter kit?’ Is it returnable for full refund? Most we’ve seen provide nothing useful, but allow the company to claim they provided what was promised…barely.
Hi i call this company a few times already and they always say memory full on the answering machine! A to Z marketing LTD mail list specalist? is that right? what joke is this? to good to be true this job? so if you pay them nothing really going to happen is it? fraud !!! Someone put this on BBC watchdog!
Hi, I’ve just received some literatures and a “No Risk Application Form” from A 2 Z Marketing LTD where they’re asking for a fee of “£59.99/£29.99* if returning within 7 days of the above date” which is 12 Jan 2011 for a starter pack. I checked for any websites under their company’s name but nothing and they seem to have made themselves quite discreet. It’s probably too good to be true.
Yes, such schemes skirt the law by actually delivering something. But kif you rummage around the werb you;ll find that what people typically receive is woefully inadequate and a rip off. Our advice would be to save your money.
Hey guys, I found a work from home advert in the newspaper and they said leave your information after the tone so I did and few days later I received mail from A2Z limited the same as above with the No Risk Application form. They do say that the money is refundable during the first week. They have an address and P.O. BOX, don’t you think they are not scam since they have an office and VAT registration number? I don’t know I’m keen to work with them, am desperate to find a job but I don’t want to fall in the fraud pit.. Help!
Anyone offering legitimate work will PAY YOU!
DO NOT send money!
Thank you Tom, you are right.. and for anyone out there receiving same thing I tracked the companies details and turns they are scam, they are registered with the Company House but they’ve chaged the name of the company it was ABC marketing limited to A2Z marketing limited = fraud.

It is scam!!
Hello every one. As for A to Z marketing I also responded to them after seeing their advert on a news paper. After receiving there information pack, any one can c the scam it is so prominent: whom so ever have or will have that information kit plus the no risk application form just go through the post code that’s provided in the leaflet, form and the return envelop they send”….the post code on the return envelop is different!…it surely is tricky!!.. BEWARE!!
